2nd March 2013 New Machines Over the past few months we have brought in machines to make some of the manual tasks easier, giving us the luxury of completing these tasks in less time and hopefully help us to increase production. As most of our clients will know, most of our celebration cakes can be created with only three day notice, when other celebration cake makers require orders weeks in advance. This helps us to create cakes which are as fresh as they possibly could be and why all of our clients return again and again. We can't thank you all enough for keeping us busy. Regards Ann 24th October 2011 New Showroom Now Open We didn't think it would take so long but we've finally done it, the new showroom is finally open with a lot of hard work. We have lots of wedding & celebration cake designs on show, have a taste of our cakes to help you decide exactly what flavour you want. Discuss ideas with your very own cake designer. Regards Ann & Peter 31st August 2011 New Showroom Opening Soon We're so delighted to announce that we will be opening a new showroom in Fulwood Industrial Estate, just off Burnbank Road in Hamilton pretty soon, we did hope to have it up and running by now but with all the wedding exibitions and current orders we are up to our ears in cakes, so supplying the new showroom with display cakes has been put to the bottom of the list for now, must keep our clients happy. We hope that we can have the grand opening in the next few weeks and we will post everywhere when we know a date for sure, you are more than welcome to pop in anytime after the opening to view the largest display of wedding cakes and celebration cakes in Scotland. We will also have all of our cake flavours ready for free tasting sessions, so you can come along and taste the cakes before you buy. Ann & Peter Cakes by Ann 30th August 2011 Royal Concert Hall - August 2011 Must have been one of the busiest wedding exhibitions we have ever been at and we've been to a few, a great big thank you to everyone who came alone to see us and book their wedding cake, it's always great to see you and listen to your ideas for your wedding cake. Also fantastic to see so many old friends and catch up on gossip. Ann Cakes by Ann 19th May 2011 One Cap Watson Cakes by Ann were delighted to design and create a celebration cake for Bobby Watson to celebrate him finally receiving a Scottish Cap in recognition of his one and only outing for the Scotland Football team when he appeared for the national side against Russia on the 24th June 1971. Bobby had a career with Rangers and Motherwell before becoming manager of Airdrie Football Club.   14th February 2011 Another Record Month We are only half way through the month of February and already we have another record month and it's all down to our clients who have passed on our details to friends and family, we would like to thank you all for having so much faith in us. The Royal Concert Hall wedding exhibition at the weekend was a huge success for us, so many enquiries that we ran out of our new DVD wedding cake brochure on the first day and business cards on the second, these usually do us for all wedding exhibitions through February & March, but don't worry we will have a new batch made for the next shows. The reason for so much interest was probably down to moving from upstairs down into the main hall and we had a much larger stand so could exhibit many more of our exquisite wedding cakes. We have quite a few more wedding exhibitions to go in the next few months so you can still come and see the biggest range of wedding cakes on display at any wedding exhibition in Scotland. Deposit confirmations will be sent out as soon as possible for wedding cakes booked at the Royal Concert Hall this weekend, we've got a lot to get through so please be patient. Those of you who know our staff may have noticed two new additions working with us at this show, they are Amanda & Paul, Amanda comes to us with numerous awards in Cake Decoration and is one of the brightest prospects in the cake making industry for many years, Paul has a degree in business management and makes a welcome addition to our fast growing team of professionals. With these two new additions we hope to bring you some fresh ideas and many new designs and know they will be the future of Cakes by Ann. Ann & Peter Cakes by Ann 31st January 2011 More Wedding Exhibition Dates Added We have added even more dates for wedding exhibitions and events, so you have more chances to come and see some of our wonderful wedding cake designs and speak to the designer who will create your wedding cake face to face. Ann Cakes by Ann 31st October 2010 Meet The Bride Night - What A Fantastic Idea I must admit that the idea of speed dating came to mind as soon as we heard about this idea but what a fantastic idea it was, being able to meet so many brides or couples in such a short time is something every wedding company should try. Thank you to Paul and others who helped organise this remarkable event, it must have taken much planning, time and effort and this was evident right from the start with a very warm welcome when we arrived. To be able to pass on so much information to potential client in such a short space of time is prefect and I'm sure we impressed quite a few and will be hearing from them soon. Would I do it again? most definitely and I would recommend every wedding company should at try this, pound for pound a very effective way to advertise your products & services at a fraction of the cost of a large wedding exhibition, can't wait for the next one. 25th & 26th September 2010 Thee Wedding Show - George Square, Glasgow. Many thanks to everyone who came to visit us at "Thee Wedding Show" in George Square, Glasgow. It was a fantastic weekend, to be honest I haven't enjoyed a show so much for ages. The other vendors were so friendly and we got to make some new friends and to meet up with some friends that we hadn't seen for a while, Lesley from John McKay jewellers in Paisley & Claire from Caesars, two of the nicest people you will ever meet. A great big thank you to everyone who booked Cakes by Ann for their wedding cake over the weekend and the others who will no doubt be contacting us soon to book theirs once they see how fantastic our prices are by comparing them to other cake suppliers out there. We look forward to hearing from you all in the near future. Ann Cakes by Ann Saturday 11th September 2010 Miniature Wedding Cakes We have added a new section to our website called Miniature Wedding Cakes. These are exact replicas of a standard size wedding cakes but obviously smaller in tier size and ideal if you are having a wedding with a small number of guests as they cater for approx 60 people. You still have the same options on all the fantastic flavours we offer, and we pay just as much attention to detail as we would with a larger wedding cake. Above in the photo is a standard size four tier wedding cake next to one of our three tier miniature wedding cakes to give you an idea of size, we also supply the correct size of base, which we have had specially made to compliment our miniature wedding cakes. Our miniature wedding cakes are also perfect for the largest weddings if you prefer something different to the normal size wedding cake, have one on your top table, have one on each table, or have a standard size wedding cake and a miniature wedding cake together. Ann Cakes by Ann Saturday 12th September 2009 Maggie & Alan Rough's - Wedding Cake Ann was delighted when asked if she could create a wedding cake for Alan Rough's big day. His fiancee Maggie had her own ideas as to how their wedding cake should look and Ann came up with the goods creating a truly unique design. In the wedding cake photo above you will see that Maggie wanted to capture Alan's career as a top goalie and wanted figures of Alan in the colours of each club he played for and to top the cake a figures of Alan & Maggie together. Apologies if we couldn't get the time to speak to everyone, you probably seen how busy we were and how hectic it can get, a bit like a pound sale at Harrods at times. If we didn't get to answer all your questions or if there is anything you forgot to ask, don't worry. Our phones and emails are covered seven days a week from 9am - 9pm to answer any queries or take your deposit. Please note that we are nearly fully booked for 2010, so book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Secure your date with a deposit and decide later on design, how many tier, colours etc, In fact you can change anything up to two weeks before your big day.
